Scope of this policy

How consent is obtained
Consent is verbal, and it is given by the caller during a live phone call that the caller placed to +1 (980) 577-0414. In the course of that call the caller asks to be texted something — a link, or the information they were calling about.
- Messages are sent only to the phone number that placed the call, taken from caller ID.
- There is no web form, no text-in keyword, no purchased or rented list, and no recurring subscription. Nobody is added to a list.
- Callers are told, in the words below, that texts may follow:
The phone line answers in English and Spanish. Text messages are sent in the language the caller used.
Consent to receive texts is never a condition of using the phone service. A caller who would rather not be texted is helped on the call exactly the same way. No purchase, order, or service depends on agreeing to messages.
What is sent
These are customer care and transactional messages only. They are not marketing messages.
- A link the caller asked for during the call — for example the menu, an ordering link, directions, reservations, or the website.
- A reply to a missed call, so the caller can continue by text.

Message frequency
Messages are sent only in response to a call the customer placed. There is no recurring or scheduled messaging program and no subscription. Typically this means one to a few messages per order or request. Message frequency varies by user interaction.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. These are charges from the customer's mobile carrier, not from Dear Dad's Restaurant or EpochCore, LLC. Check your mobile plan for details.
Opting out
You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message you receive. You will get one confirmation message and then no further texts.

Information collected
- Your mobile phone number, taken from the caller ID of the call you placed.
- What you asked for — the order, link, or information you requested during the call, so the correct message can be sent.
- A record of your consent — a note that you asked to be texted during the call, with the date and time.
- Delivery and opt-out status — whether the message was delivered, and whether you have replied with an opt-out keyword.
How that information is used
Only to:
- Send the message you asked for during your call.
- Respond to HELP requests.
- Honor STOP and other opt-out requests, and keep an opt-out on file so you are not texted again.
- Keep records needed for compliance with messaging regulations and carrier requirements.
Your phone number is not used to send marketing or promotional messages, and it is not added to any marketing list.
Sharing of information
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are not shared, sold, or rented to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No exceptions.
The only sharing that occurs is operational and limited to what is necessary to deliver your message:
- Messaging providers and carriers. Your number is passed to the messaging service provider and the mobile carriers that transmit the message to your handset. They act as service providers and may not use your number for their own marketing.
- Dear Dad's Restaurant. As the business you called, Dear Dad's Restaurant may see that you called and what you requested.
- Legal requirements. Information may be disclosed if required by law, legal process, or to enforce these terms.
Service providers used to operate this messaging program: Twilio (message delivery), Cloudflare (hosting and data storage), and Stripe (payments, where applicable).
Data retention
Records of your request, your consent, the message sent, and any opt-out are kept only as long as needed to operate the service and to meet legal, regulatory, and carrier recordkeeping requirements. Opt-out records are kept indefinitely — this is deliberate, so that a number that has opted out is never texted again.
Your choices and requests
You may ask what information is held about your number, ask for it to be deleted, or ask to be added to the opt-out list, using the contact details below. Note that an opt-out record must be retained in order to honor your opt-out.
Children
This service is intended for general customers of the business and is not directed to children under 13. Information is not knowingly collected from them.
